Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the Red Tour without tickets and the standard Red Tour?
The Red Tour without tickets is the budget version of the standard tour. It's cheaper because museum entrance fees are not included — you save by paying the entrances yourself. On the standard Red Tour these tickets are included in the package.
Which entrance fees do I need to pay separately?
Entrances to Zelve Open Air Museum and Paşabağ (Monks Valley) are at your own expense. Some stops, such as Love Valley, are free. You can ask your guide or check at the ticket office for the current amounts.
Which places does the tour visit?
The route covers Zelve Open Air Museum, Love Valley, the Paşabağ fairy chimneys, lunch in Avanos, Devrent (Imagination) Valley, the Esentepe panorama viewpoint, Pigeon Valley and the pottery and stone workshops.
What's included in the price?
Hotel transfers, air-conditioned transport, a professional multilingual guide, lunch and insurance are included. Museum tickets, drinks, personal expenses and tips are not included.
Is lunch included?
Yes, lunch is included and served at a local restaurant in Avanos. You can let us know any special dietary requests (vegetarian, etc.) when booking.
How long is the tour and what time does it start?
It's a full-day tour; you'll be picked up from your hotel around 09:30 and dropped off around 17:00. The group size is a maximum of 14 people.
In which languages is the guiding available?
Guiding is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish. Just state your preferred language when booking.
Should I choose this tour or the Green Tour?
The Red Tour focuses on the fairy chimneys, workshops and panorama points around Göreme and involves less walking. The Green Tour visits more distant sites such as Ihlara Valley and Kaymaklı Underground City and requires more walking. If you have 2 days, doing both is recommended.
